Megan toothless

Megan was a late tooth loser, but they are all coming out now. She'll have a hard time eating soon :)

School pictures

More on these to come later, but Megan actually let us put her hair in a pony tail for the school pictures this year. And it actually stayed in all the way to the pictures. That was a first.

First day of School

We were smart this year and had the kids dress up for school the day before school this year! So we could calmly get pictures of all three of them looking somewhat happy and not scared that they were going to miss the bus. Rachel is in 8th grade at middle school, and Michael is in 5th and Megan in 3rd. Next year all three will take 3 different buses to 3 different schools!

Daddy's Birthday

Sadly this will be the last fun birthday I have as I turn 40 next year. It was nice to feel young for one last year at least.

Megan's art for Daddy

Megan, our blossiming artist, made Daddy all kinds of Captain America pictures for my birthday. She created the card from scratch and started a 50 page comic called "doof man vs Captain America" which was awesome, especially when she reads to me with her own sound effects.

Rachel girls camp

With Rachel being in young women, for their girls camp this year they got to travel to Nauvoo, Ill to visit some famous church history sites. She had a great time and was a real testimony building trip for her, although it was like pulling teeth to get her to talk about the details. She came back with lots of pictures, but only had her in four of them...

Megan's Baptism

With Megan turning eight, she was now excited to be baptised. It's hard to believe that all our kids are now old enough... Grandpa came up to visit for the summer and was able to be there to help confirm her. Megan had a great day. Her friend from school came (Lydia) as well as friends from church. She got her own set of scriptures with her name on them which she loved. I think it was the first time her school friends had ever seen her in a dress also.

Megans family birthday

On Megan's actual birthday she always asks for breakfast in bed from Mommy, who also made her a special lunch and dinner, with the cake of her choice. This year was Oreo Ice Cream cake.

Megan turns 8

We had Megans birthday party in our backyard this year and Candice did a great job running the show. Anyone that puts on a party for 10+ kids knows how hard it is to keep control. They started off with a ballon popping relay, then had a water ballon toss (fight) and then a boiled egg race, followed by a Scoobie Doo pinata, then a make your own cup cake event, and then finally opening presents. It was a really fun time for Megan. Thanks Mommy!

4th of July

For the 4th of July we all rode our bikes down to Rachel's middle school where we could see the fireworks going off from the high school (which is where the city puts on the fireworks display each year). It was Megan's first time actually watching the fireworks and using sparklers also. She usually runs in the house and hides. It was really fun except for the massive swarm of blood sucking mosquitoes out this year. We took some elapsed shots of the kids with the sparklers making shapes and trying to spell out "MOM" in one of them.
