Candice's first 5k

I've previously posted the pictures from this but was able to upload a "highlite reel" video of her crossing the finish line.  She was happy at the end because she beat my first time running the 5k.  (That's why she's laughing and pointing at me!)

Megans first loose tooth

I actually thought this day would never come.  And I thought it would be alot worse when it happened; more yelling and screaming anyway.  Other kids in Megan's class have lost 4-8 teeth already and Megan was still waiting.  On the 17th of Jan Megan said she had a loose tooth, and it was really loose.  I thought it would come out that day.  She was excited to have me wiggle it, and even try to pull it out once, until she found out that "really hurt" and then didn't want me to try again.  4 days later it was hanging there, really, so I tugged it when I was flossing her teeth and she did the rest!

The Snow hill

Rachel likes to walk down the street to her friend Emmas house and play games on the snow hill in the middle of the cul de sac.  I had seen them around the neighborhood, but never at Emma's.  Rachel kept saying it was "so much bigger" than the other, but has also been known to exaggerate before so I drove her over there and was surprised to see it was alot bigger!  The game she likes to play on it with Emma are "Twilight" where one is Edward and one is Bella and they each try to turn the other into a vampire.  Goes really well with a snow hill...

Our Xbox 360 gaming avatars

Xbox avatars are kind of like your little digital person you get to make on the xbox 360 to represent you. It can be used in some games to play with, but for the most part it is the picture of you (or tiny you) that your friends see when they look you up. The kids love changing the clothes on their avatar, and they tend to change throughout the year so I thought I would take a snapshot of our family today.

Snow sledding

Trying something new with the new digital camcorder Candice got me. It makes it much easier to upload video right away. This was us sledding on Dec 26th. We had about 2-3 feet of snow on the 23-25 which started off as really soft packing snow, then it got really cold and windy and the wet snow froze to icy snow. When we went to the hill we dound out how icey it really was.

2010 Polar Dash 10k

This has become a crazy tradition for me since we've moved to Minnesota. I ran the 5k for the first time on 1/1/08 which was snowy and cold. Then I ran my longest distance at the time (the 10k) last year on 1/1/09 in 1 hour 12 minutes and it hurt like crazy. Just finished the 10k again this year on 1/1/10 and set a new PR of 59:41. Didn't know what the expect since I haven't been able to run too much with all of the snow up here, and it being the coldest day so far (1F) that I've run in. What's real funny is I appear to have some sort of paranoia about "thinking I'll need to use the bathroom and there won't be one around so I end up standing in line just to make sure I don't have to go while I'm racing" fear. Anyways, below is the results from the race. It was my best split race, however my heart rate was way high the last 20 minutes. I did the VO2 max test a few years ago and it came back with my max VO2 at 186, yet I ran the last 20 minutes of the race almost averaging that. It was a great start to the new year!

The 10 Year Anniversary video montage

I already posted the 20"x30" poster I had framed, but going through all the pictures over 10 years and only picking out six was really challenging so I put them all into this photo video on you tube. I always tell Candice that my favorite part is watching her hairdo's change.
