The kids got their winter haircuts and it seems like the middle of winter we never take pictures of the kids, so it was a good time to post some random pics of them. Rachel got bangs for the first time.

The only constant is change
I used to call these posts "Candice's new new new hairdo" but I lost count of the number of "new's". Each one seems to get better though and this one is our favorite. She went really dark with some red highlights (which don't show up in pictures too well) and has a really edgy look :).
Michael first time snowboarding
So Michael got a day of snowboarding and a full pass for Christmas and was begging me daily to go and do it. I got to stand outside for 8 hours in the cold and watch while Michael had the time of his life. It's amazing how fast kids pick things up. He loved it and now wants his own snow board for Christmas next year.
Polar Dash 2011
So every new years for the past 4 I've done the Polar Dash on Jan 1. Seems to get colder and have more snow each year. And each year I seem to get faster, so it keeps me going. This year was frigid with lots of snow, but I was able to drop almost 4 minutes from my 10k time last year going 56:06.

New Years Eve
This was our first adult only party on New Years Eve since we've been married. We left the kids home alone if you can believe that, but with a 13, 10 and 7 year old they did a great job. We went to the Simontons (Candice's workout buddy) and had some of the friends from the ward over.

Family Picture 2010
We barely made the cut off this year. Usually we take this over the Thanksgiving break, or even earlier in the summer time with my brother and his family and our Dad, but we never got all in the same place at the same time this year. This was taken the last Sunday of the year right after church before the kids ripped off their church clothes.
Megans Art Work
So, I'm really behind again, but Megan came home with a poem she illustrated from scratch the other day and it was so amazing I had to scan it in a post it. First, she's in grade 2 (age 7) and has been going through a ream of printer paper a month drawing and doodling for over 4 years. She loves to draw. This year her creativity, imagination and skills have all finally started to come together though. On this assignment the teacher gave them a poem to illustrate, and they could draw what ever they wanted to draw. This was Megan's imagination...
