Warmer weather arrives

We finally had a great week temperature wise, where is was in the 70's all week long. One day it even got into the 80's and Rachel said it was already "too hot". It's great to break out the backyard stuff that has been put away or covered in snow all winter. We've already roasted hot dogs and marshmellows twice at the fire pit in the back.

Michael's research day

We are approaching the end of the school year, so there are alot more parent involvement days and trips to the school. This week was Michaels second grade class "research day" where they present to the parents an animal they studied and put a report together on. It's always great to see them so excited when their parents show up at school. Michael chose tigers for his animal and put together a quiz for the parents to take after his presentation "just to make sure they are listening".

Megans haircut

Rachel helps Megan wash her hair when it's her bath time, as Megan has always not liked to wash her hair. The other day Rachel was getting frustrated with Megan not letting her wash her hair, so Rachel quoted something Mommy has always told Rachel - "If you wash your hair it will help it grow faster".
So, last week Candice walks into the bedroom and see's Megan chopping her hair short "so she can look like a boy". When Candice asks her why she did it Megan says "we can just go wash my hair and make it grow back"...
At least now Megan isn't too excited to "look like a boy", but her new bob actually looks really cute.

Eastview MN Twins nite

This is becoming an annual event now (2nd time), that the kids school makes a section available for the students and families to buy tickets together. Megan, Michael and Rachel all went this time, along with our neighbor Joey. Their priciple threw out the opening pitch, and Rachel's 5th grade choir sang the national anthem (she was in band so she didn't sing).

As you can see, we had the nose bleed seats, right under the giant scoreboard...

Rachel saw her friends and ended up sitting with them for most of the night...

Michael sat by me for most of the night but then ventured off up and down the stairs to sit with his friends also

Megan saw one of the girls in her class and climbed down to sit with her, and ended up watching the big TV behind them

What was funny to watch with Megan was when we first got there she was amazed at how big the stadium was, then walking up the stairs was a little scary for her, then once we settled down and started watching the game she was excited until the first hit by the Twins when all of a sudden the crowd erupted all at once and she got startled from the quick loud noise.

Megan Kindergarden involvement day

Daddy got to go to Megan's parent involvement day with her kindergarden class. It was alot of learning/coloring stations, with some games and other activities that the kids were supposed to walk the parents around and explain how to do things. I was really fun to watch Megan's faces when I asked her was I was supposed to do. This is her coloring her "rainbow"...

This was my favorite part as I remember doing this with Michael 3 years ago. They make a time capsule listing somethings about them now, and things they want to be when they grow up, then they seal it and don't open it until they are 18. Michael still wants to open his now, and we'll have to put Megans on the shelf next to his.

One of the answers Megan gave was to "what do you want to be when you grow up?", and her answer was "a boy"... I'm sure we'll get a good laugh about that in 15 years.

Easter

This Easter was the first time it was warm enough to do the egg hunt outside, which was a nice change as the easter bunny had alot more room to hide the eggs. Rachel is also old enough to set her alarm at 6 AM and come and wake Michael and Megan up also....

Candice turned another year younger this year so we celebrated at home with a nice chocolate cake made by Rachel and Auntie
