Strawberry picking

Spring and rain mean strawberry picking time in Lakeville.  We took the whole family (plus some of Rachels friends) with us for our family home evening activity.

Here's Rachel and one of her BFF's Sadie.

Michael getting ready to pull the cart.

He's getting to have a really handsome smile :)

Rachel and her friends doing the "hip walk"

Candice with her new glasses looking beautiful as ever.

What Megan kept doing and we kept yelling "Megan Nooooo"

Megan hanging out in the strawberry fields.

Michael with his sweaty hair.

Me looking cool :)

Michael taking over the camera and taking a picture of us

I thought this one was really neet.  Not too often your kids snap a "natural" picture of you that turns out pretty cool.

The new hat

Candice always looks beautiful. With different colors, shirts, styles, hairdoes. She's had all kinds of jewelery, belts, etc, but really hasn't been into hats or hairpieces too much. She found this really cool hat she liked on clearance and had to try it out. I thought she looked great so had to post the "50's Candice" on our blog :)

Michael Soccer Spring 2010

Didn't get to take alot of pictures this spring of soccer due to all the rain, but for the last regular season game we were able to bust it out. And Michael got to play his favorite position - goalie! He loves playing goalie so much that he begs to be that position each time. His kick has really gotten good now also as he can kick it past the center spot of the field. I was asst coach again this year, so of course we ended up losing most of our games, but Michael had alot of fun and was able to be goalie 3 times. I love the faces he makes while he is in goal.

Spring time around the house

Spring time around the house brings out the flowers. This year we got hanging baskets to go up on the deck so we could see the flowers better, as well as not feed the bunnies and deer so much. Last year the flowers lasted about 1 week before they were all eaten. This year (the ones on the deck anyways) are blooming and lasting a whole lot longer. With all the rain we've had lately too, they are really growing well.

Mothers Day 2010

How much do the kids love Mommy?  SOOOOOOOOOO much!!  They loved making cinnamon rolls in bed for her and getting to help her around the house.  These are some of the best pictures we've taken of our favorite Mommy and my beautiful wife.  We love her so much and are so blessed to have her!

Michaels first time skiing

Michael really wanted to get into snowboarding this winter, and we tried to go a few times on the local sledding hill, but the snow on the hill gets so packed down from all the sleders that it's too hard to snowboard on.  So uncle Kris got him a pass to go to the local ski hill for Christmas and we finally were able to go on Feb 13th.  I hadn't been skiing in 20 years and it was Michaels first time.  We were both planning on snowboarding but as the day drew nearer I kept hearing stories about how "it's so much harder than skiing", "wear a helmut", "you spend all your time falling", so at the end we both decided to try skiing the first time.  Needless to say all the new snowboarders on the hill kept doing all the things I listed above.  Michael did great, and my knees held out for about 4 hours then I started filming him.  Other than Daddy wiping out on the bunny magic carpet lift, and causing the ski lift to stop when we got on and off, it was pretty hazard free.

Michaels Cub Scout Blue and Gold

At the end of Jan Michael had his blue and gold ceremony for Cub Scouts which celebrates the 100th birthday of scouting in America.  Since Candice is the Cub Scout leader she gets to plan and MC the event.  I brought the new camcorder along and filmed some clips from the event - Mommy getting ready, Rachel helping set up, Michael and Megan playing with the decorations, Michael running the flag ceremony, Candice MCing, and Michael putting away the troop flag.  Michael looks so cute in his uniform also.
